Cubism Portraits

This is my final Cubism portrait. While there is some Analytic Cubism (in the background of the left half, as well as the two digital photos of parts of my head), it is mostly Synthetic. I've come to regard this piece as the "personification of design" as it embodies different aspects, mediums, forms, and processes involved in design. This final version includes references to Adobe CS3, transparency, and my integrated design statement: "As a designer, Sam utilizes necessary artistic forms and processes to construct meaningful messages."

This is a configuration of my Synthetic and Analytic Cubism portraits.

Synthetic Cubism, revised. Cleaned up form, color revisions.

Analytic Cubism, revised, with the addition of the important "1+1=3" concept.

Synthetic Cubism- includes symbols of design and the design process: sketch, photography, halftone, vector art, gridlines, etc.

Analytic Cubism

Designers create messages. During the process of design, designers use a multitude of forms and processes (sketches, vector art, photography) in order to achieve good form and concept. Design is the result of all the stages of a designer's life, past and present. In the same way, the stages of the design process are all a part of the final design.
